Printing Checklist
- Have you saved your file in the correct format; is the file type correct?
- Is your image resolution set to 300 dots per inch?
- Is your desired finished product ultimate size specified on your file?
- Does your printing project have bleeds and do you have those included in your design file?
- Have you used and recorded unique filenames?
- Have you set all 4 color images to CMYK mode? (RGB and index mode should not be used)?
- Did you Include Pantone numbers if you are using spot color?
- Have you indicated where spot color is to be printed?
- Have you converted your fonts to outlines or included them in your art file?
- Have you included the following information with your file/order:
- Client name
- Project title
- Project description
- Date submitted
- Target date needed by
- Both the trim and folded sizes
- Have you specified the following with your Paper selection:
- Brand name if any preferred
- Color
- Finish
- Weight
- Will you be using varnishes or in-line aqueous coating (spot or overall) for front and back
- Have you specified the converting required for your project after printing:
- Trim / Cutting
- Fold (type of fold)
- Die cut
- Score/Perf
- Collate
- Number
- Drill (number of holes and hole diameters)
- Stitch
- Binding
- Shrink-wrap
- Have you specified additional finishing for your project?
- Embossing
- Foil stamping
- UV coating
- Laminating
- Did you specify packaging requirements for your order?
- Did you specify and confirm delivery instructions for your order?
- Do you understand our terms (pricing, conditions, payment terms)?
- When you review your proof:
- Are all pages included in the proof?
- Are the pages in the proper order and the page numbers correct?
- Are all images/photos included and in proper placement?
- Measure the final trim size and check folds for accuracy.
- Are photos cropped correctly?
- Are all photos facing the proper direction?
- Do the photos and graphics have good contrast?
- Are all fonts correct?
- Are the margins and page alignment(s) correct?
- Do the bleeds extend beyond the trim marks?
